I can’t remember life before computers.

Born in London, Ontario, I grew up surrounded by my dad’s hobby of fixing computers. He always made sure we had a top-of-the-line computer, so I have always been enthusiastic about technology. I taught myself HTML at 12 years old.

I persisted with web design and during high school I won a local web design competition. I went on to use my design skills for print while I was editor of my high school yearbook. After peer-tutoring an art class in my final year, I became one of two students responsible for the entire school’s computer hardware, software and network issues.

When I realized I had a passion for art, I commuted to H.B. Beal Secondary School and spent three semesters there in the bealart program, a highly respected art foundations course which included art history, commercial art, painting, drawing, print-making, ceramics, photography, etc.

While studying Multimedia Design & Production at Humber College, I taught myself basic PHP while my peers were learning ColdFusion. I graduated in May of 2006 with honours and shortly thereafter began designing tableless CSS & XHTML websites.

After college, I spent a year as Creative Director for the start-up company, Pictures in Motion. After that I freelanced for a year until May of 2008 when I moved to Bath, UK to work for blubolt, a web development company that focuses on e-commerce integrations.
