Eastern Canada in the Fall
Chris and I are thinking about going to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island in the fall, providing we can clear up our design work beforehand. Our tentative plan is to fly into Halifax, rent a car then head to Moncton, Charlottetown and St. John before crossing on a ferry back to Nova Scotia and driving along the coast back to Halifax. Let us know if we missed anything or if you can make any recommendations!

Although not really in the neighborhood, you guys are always welcome in Ottawa.
We just finished our third east coast trip, and we’ve loved every one (still working on Jenn to convince her to move!) – it depends on 2 factors: how much time you have, and what style of vacation/touristing you want. Halifax is a tonne of fun, party, and lots of great beer. Charlottetown also has some party, but the rest of the area is small towns, lovely views, and culture out the ying-yang. I like the trek from Digby to Westport (Brier Island) and back again, Port Hawkesbury around to Inverness and the Cabot Trail (a ’should-see’), then back via Baddeck, and along the coast to Sherbrooke and to Halifax. Both loops of PEI are memorable. Take the side roads whenever you can, hug the coast, and explore. Maybe plan on 200 km per day. I can give you some good options for B&Bs and particular sights. Lucky you!
