Grandma Mahon’s Indonesian Curry
If you’re a fan of sweet curry, you’ll like this recipe. It’s a big family favourite in Canada and really easy to make if you have company coming.

Yummy! I’ve typed out the recipe below:
Ingredients
- 5 tbsp butter
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 apples, peeled and chopped
- 4 tbsp flour
- 2 tsp curry powder
- 2 cans beef consomme
- 1 cup water
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 2 cups diced meat
Directions
- Saute onion and apple together in a deep skillet until tender, using 2 tbsp of the butter.
- Then add the rest of the butter, sift flour and curry powder on top and stir until it is comfortably integrated.
- Add consomme, water, lemon juice, and meat.
- Simmer it all for 30-60 minutes while you cook the rice (or pasta) to serve it on.
And when you’re finished, you’ll have something that looks like this:

Totally copying this recipe. I haven’t made curry myself yet, haven’t had any kind of receive that pops out at me. I think photos do it for me though. Thanks for this!
looks yummy
would it be completely blasphemous if i used chicken broth instead?
This sounds wondeful, I hope to try it for myself and hope that my kids like it too!
