The Golden Ticket / A Love Story

The Golden Ticket

When I read about Carsonified’s The Golden Ticket contest, I realized I had to enter. Let me explain why.

I lived in south-western Ontario my whole life, up until 5 months ago. I started my web design career there while attending college and began immersing myself in resources such as A List Apart, Vitamin and DesignMeltDown (to name a few).

Then came late 2006 when I met Chris online. At first it was strictly business as we began swapping interesting sites, design ideas, and then eventually hugs (*swoon*). It seemed a fairy tale, really. My first two visits to Bath, England were coupled with excursions to Rome and then Paris, because Chris knew my love for art history. We fell for each other and kept it up for a year and a half before I decided to move to Bath and work for Chris’ company, blubolt.

I became familliar with Carsonified’s Ryan and Gillian Carson through Vitamin and the web dev conferences they run, and was somewhat surprised to find that they also lived / worked in Bath. Ryan and Gillian became my mini-idols because not only are they a multinational couple, they successfully work together as well.

If I won this contest, I’d learn twofold. Not only would be learning a plethora about web development from the conference speakers, I’d also learn more about working with my significant other by observation of Ryan and Gill.

In order to help me win, please leave a comment! If you cant think of what to write, write about the craziest thing you’ve done for love!

I was so fed up of talking to my ex on IM I ended up writing a bot to deal with her.
It was a superb bot, though.
    Hope you win! x

Well it’s not too mushy but I asked my guy to PROM!. He was hesitant at first (because I was dating a guy at the time. but he wouldn’t go with me! He was from another school) Anyways, soon after I asked my guy now to prom the other one said we were “better off friends” OH WELL. But my guy (present) and I ended up going to prom in a 1957 silver chevy IT WAS SOO COOL!! 5 Years later we live together and own a cat!!!!! (I know super exciting!) HA :) If I hadn’t made the first step to ask him to prom then we wouldn’t be where we are today… aweeeee. Not as a romantic story as yours though!

    PS I hope you win!!

Alright, craziest thing I’ve done for love? Hmm. I don’t know that I’ve done anything crazy. I’ve written a few love songs. That’s about it.

    I didn’t make http://www.mushytime.com.

The craziest thing I do for love is drive my lovely girlfriend Jemma to Cribbs Causeway shopping centre when I am tired after work, all for a bit of retail therapy…. or devil worship as I like to call it!

The craziest thing I did for love? Hmm… Will and I’ve been dating for so long I can’t remember much about the early days O____o

I guess a pretty crazy thing was chasing William to college *hides* It was one of the best decisions of my life, though! I would have missed out on a lot of stuff if I had stayed home and attended the local college.

I hope you win my love!

It’s kind of hard to think of what to say about love when the last time i’ve been in love has been so long ago.
    I suppose I’ve done plenty for people I love…

A poem I wrote 2 minutes after I just woke up… trust story.

From cooking for them when they had no money,
To getting them drunk when they were sad and lonely.

From taking care of their pets when they were out of the country,
To dressing them up when they needed clothes very badly.

From telling off one of their exes off while we’re drunk and blubbery,
to going to see some band that I don’t really fancy.

Love in this case has to do with friends and family,
Not so much all the men that left me dreary.

I hope you win my dear amy,
because soon you’ll be back in London,
and we’ll be getting drunk in this shitty city!

Craziest thing for love? I got purposely stranded at Chicago O’Hare a few years back in order to not have to go back to England just yet…. The replacement flight cost an arm and a leg. Totally worth it.

About 30 years ago, I was a teen in Fredericton who attended the same university and church as this really great guy. We never met — it was a case of six degrees of separation. So what were the odds we would connect online 6 years ago? We each discovered our soul mate. I moved from London, Ont to K-W to be with him. Married 5 years ago and are blissfully happy. Thank God for second chances! All the best on your great adventure! Sorry I was too late for the contest!
